Rare Daft Punk Footage

I found some rare video footage of Daft Punk’s first live performance in the United States, before they were robots in 1996 and you gotta see it!

Original Instagram Post

The video footage is from Daft Punk’s first live performance in the U.S.A. at Even Furthur in 1996 at Eagle Cave Campground in Wisconsin, during Memorial Day Weekend.

“We were 20-year-old kids, and I thought it was really one of the best festivals we’d done. It wasn’t huge, but it was in the woods, in nature, really outside the city. Techno music was known in Chicago and Detroit, but it wasn’t as big as it is now. It felt like a special moment; we have great memories of it. Even now, people go on YouTube to get videos from that night — it was true energy.” Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (Daft Punk)

Here is a post from the Drop Bass Network guys who booked Daft Punk for $650 cash and return flights from Paris!
